<p>It has just been reported that the Cleveland cop responsible for fatally shooting 12-year-old, Tamir Rice, will not face any criminal charges as a grand jury failed to indict him and another officer involved in the shooting.</p>
<p>Tamir was killed a little over a year ago when he was caught carrying a replica gun outside of a recreation center. The replica prompted someone to call 911 but the caller did advise police that the weapon was most likely a fake that was being carried by a minor. Unfortunately, that message never reached Timothy Lehmann and Frank Garmback, the first responding officers.</p>
<p>Footage had revealed that Officer Loehmann pulled up to the scene, stepped out of his vehicle and immediately shot Tamir, killing him a few hours later. The county prosecutor in the case,Timothy J. McGinty, said that the fatality was the &#8220;perfect storm of human error&#8221; since it was later revealed that 12-year-old victim was only holding a pellet gun. He acknowledges that the police force grants leniency for decisions made by police officers &#8220;who must make a split second decision.”</p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5;">McGinty also said that it is &#8220;indisputable&#8221; that at the time of the shooting, Rice did remove the pellet gun from his waistband but for motives that were unknown to police at the time, even though he believes it was an attempt to hand it over to the officers to </span><span style="line-height: 1.5;">show</span><span style="line-height: 1.5;"> that it wasn&#8217;t a real gun.</span></p>
