With all of the controversy about the Oscar’s and race, Chris Rock has found himself in the middle of it all as people called for him to quit as this year’s awards host. Well it looks like he has another agenda as the comedian reportedly scrapped his entire monologue for the ceremony and started over!
According to Reginald Hudlin, a producer for the Academy Awards, Chris Rock and his writing team locked themselves in a room to come up with content that addresses the controversy in Chris Rock’s style and let him tell it…people will be talking about it for weeks!
Ironically enough, The Academy is actually supportive of his decision to address this #OscarsSoWhite topic. They are giving him free reign to address the problem from his African American perspective. “The academy is ready for him to do that,” Hudlin told Entertainment Tonight this weekend, “They know that’s what we need, they know it’s what the public wants.”
It’s a fact that Chris Rock is a comedic genius and has a way of addressing problems affecting black culture in funny yet educational ways. Will you be tuning in to see what he does, roommates?
