We all thought that Bill Cosby may be gaining some relief after Chloe Goins, an alleged victim who accused the comedian of sexual assault at Playboy mansion back in 2008, dropped her civil suit case this past Tuesday but unfortunately for him the show must go on for another case!
According to CNN, the sexual assault charge that was filed by Andrea Constand back in 2005, was forbidden to be brought into the lime-light due to a past agreement made by then, District Attorney Bruce Castor. Well that agreement did not stop Constand from filing an aggravated indecent assault charge against the TV star back in December.
For two days Cosby’s lawyers were in a heated debate during their pretrial about a testimony he gave back in 2005. Castor believed at the time the case had “insufficient credible and admissible evidence” and was formally agreed upon by Cosby and others to never be discussed. Now the current Pennsylvania judge, Steve O’Neill is saying “there was no basis to grant the relief requested.”
The fact that this same trial is resurfacing after 11 years is what’s baffling to Cosby’s legal team and even Andre Wyatt (Cosby’s affiliate) is fighting for an appeal now by the judge after hearing the news. “The decision reached by the court was wrong,” Wyatt said.
Back when this incident first began, Constand was a Temple University employee who looked up to Cosby as her “mentor” and “teacher.” One day she went to visit him at his home in 2004 and was drugged and sexually abused, Constand alleged. In 2005 she decided to file charges against him for sexual assault as she felt he tricked her into drinking wine and taking a pill that Cosby convinced to her was a “herb.”
We continue to pray for the best!
