<p>As the NBA starts to prepare to resume the remainder of their season in Orlando, the testing process on their players have already begun.</p>
<p>On Friday, the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association announced that 16 of the 302 players that have been tested are positive for the coronavirus. They said in a statement, “Any player who tested positive will remain in self-isolation until he satisfies public health protocols for discontinuing isolation and has been cleared by a physician.&#8221;</p>
<p>The league has not tested released the names of the players. However, according to <em><a href="https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29369877/16-302-nba-players-test-positive-coronavirus">ESPN</a></em>, Malcolm Brogdon of Indiana Pacers and Jabari Parker and Alex Len from the Sacramento Kings have publicly acknowledged that recently they have tested positive. The league has not announced the results for any of the staff members from the teams travel parties.</p>
<p>On Tuesday, it was required that players participating in voluntary workouts in their home markets were required to be tested every other day.</p>
<p>Mandatory workouts don&#8217;t start until July 1st and teams that are participating in the continuation of the season can start reporting to Florida on July 7th. Training camps will run from July 9th to the 29th and the remainder of the season is scheduled to resume on July 30th.</p>
<p>As we <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/the-nba-is-in-talks-with-the-walt-disney-company-about-restarting-the-season-in-late-july/">previously</a></em> reported, last month the NBA was in talks with Disney to resume the remainder of the season at Disney’s ESPN World-Wide Sports Complex. At the time, the NBA&#8217;s Chief Communications Officer said, &#8220;Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place.&#8221;</p>
<p>The NBA season was suspended indefinitely after Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz tested positive for the virus back in March.</p>
