The 18-year-old self proclaimed “Dr. Love” has been arrested again on fraud charges after being initially caught impersonating a doctor. According to the NY Daily News, Malachi Love-Robinson is already facing charges for impersonating a doctor but it is now being reported that he stole about $35,000 from one of his patients.
Apparently, “Dr. Love” was having some issues keeping up with his car and credit card payments since it is alleged he stole the money to pay off those debts using one of his patient’s banking information.
The South Florida teen has been booked on five more counts of fraud on top of already having seven other fraud charges against him. He has been ordered to take a mental health evaluation while in court this morning and was later freed under the county’s supervised release program, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Therese Barbara told the Daily News.
Ironically enough the teen’s attorney Andrew Stine has called his client “entrepreneurial” and “brilliant,” for being able to open up a clinic and successfully impersonate a doctor at just 18.
“I think that it’s uncommon for an 18-year-old person to open a doctor’s clinic and I think — given the situation of those facts — I think the state is going to continue to look very deeply and unturn every piece of evidence or every piece of fact that can lead to a criminal charge and/or arrest,” Stine told WPTV. “This may not be the end of what occurs with the criminal charges on Mr. Love-Robinson.”
