According to CNN, the Capitol is on lockdown due to an apparent shooting at the Capitol Visitors Center. An U.S. Capitol Police officer was shot but not seriously while another female bystander was injured by bullet fragments. It is also reported that the male shooter was shot and taken into custody.
A notice has been sent to Senators saying that there is no active threat as of now. The D.C. Police Department also tweeted, “There has been an isolated incident at the U.S. Capitol. There is no active threat to the public.”

Now headed over to The White House, it is reported that a man tried to jump the fence on the front lawn. As of right now it is being looked at as a separate incidents.
Washington D.C. is definitely busy at this time of year while the famed Cherry Blossom Festival is going on as well as the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll. As of right now we know celebrities like Angela Simmons, Monica and her son as well as Beyonce with her family.
