A movement that is set to empower women, especially Black women, worldwide! ‘Black Girls Rock!’ has premiered on BET over the past few years, celebrating actresses, musicians, activists, writers, and
everything in between who have impacted the world in a significant way.
One woman decided to stop by which might take you as a surprise. Democratic presidential candidate, Hilary Clinton, came on stage to honor Beverly Bond who is the founder of Black Girls Rock and to also
add her two cents on why she thinks Black women are amazing!
She confessed that she believed that black women are, “change makers and path makers and ground shakers.” And according to the Associated Press, she also claimed that her life has been changed by strong black
women leaders (Hm.).
Although the show is set to premiere on April 5th, filming for the show was done on April 1st with Tracee Ellis Ross to host. Special honorees of the show include, Black Lives Matter founders, Patrisse
Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi. Rihanna, Shonda Rhimes, and Amanda Stenberg just to name a few!
