<p>Looks like the Trump camp is changing their story once again over who should really take the blame for Melania&#8217;s plagiarism scandal. It went from the Trumps denying that plagiarism ever took place to Melania saying she wrote the speech by herself, well now her speechwriter has come forward to take the fall!</p>
<p>In what seems to be a heartfelt letter, in-house staff writer, Meredith McIvr, describes how the whole Michelle Obama debacle came about. She says Melania had been a long time fan of Michelle Obama&#8217;s work and had apparently read some of it over the phone to Meredith, who in turn wrote down some of the key phrases and used it for Melania&#8217;s speech.</p>
<p>&#8220;In working with Melania Trump on her recent First Lady speech, we discovered many people who inspired her and messaged she wanted to share with the American people. A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama. Over the phone, she read me some passages from Mrs. Obama&#8217;s speech as examples. I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech. I did not check Mrs. Obama&#8217;s speeches. This was my mistake, and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant.&#8221;</p>
<p>She goes on to say she tried to resign from her position as staff writer but was denied, &#8220;Yesterday, I offered my resignation to Mr. Trump and the Trump family, but they rejected it. Mr. Trump told me that people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from these experiences.&#8221;</p>
