Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton got engaged last month just after six months of dating. This week, the talkshow host explained how she knew that Houghton was “the one” in an interview with Hollywood Today Live. The fact that they were able to become really good friends first helped a lot! *Hint, hint*
“We were friends for three years before. And I think that makes a big difference. And being older, you kind of know what you want. I think when you’re younger, you have to date around, kind of see what you like, what you don’t. There’s different things, honestly, from different people that I’ve dated that I’m like, ‘I love this quality…don’t love this quality so much.’
So I’m going to be 33 this year. I know exactly what I wanted and he is everything I wanted and more. And we’ve been…he is my best friend. And I think that makes such a big difference.”
The host went on to share details from her surprise engagement in Paris! She explains that having her parents there really was the cherry on top of a spectacular trip.
“We were vacationing in Europe. We had just gone to Greece and then we ended up coming back to Paris. And I was surprised with my parents showing up. And I didn’t know. There was some trickery going on. My parents being there was so special to me. They actually were celebrating twenty years of marriage. And I thought, originally, that we were just celebrating them and obviously when the surprise happened, I was super excited and super happy. So, I can’t wait,!”
We can’t wait either! We wonder when the wedding will be and who she’ll be wearing. Love is so amazing. Congratulations, Adrienne and Israel!
