Reports of Madonna’s eldest son being arrested for weed possession in London back in September surfaced on Wednesday.
According to The Sun, neighbors called the cops on Rocco Ritchie after they spotted him smoking weed in public view. The police searched the 16-year-old’s bag once they got there and found a small amount of weed prompting them to arrest him on the spot.
Referring to the situation as “a family matter,” Madonna released a statement to the Associated Press, saying, “I love my son very much. I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
This statement comes at the heels of the nasty custody battle over Rocco.
Madonna had sued her ex Guy Ritchie after their son refused to go back and live with her in New York. Rocco claimed that it was too stressful to travel with his mother while she toured and the boy’s father argued that he’s already in school so why bother?
Madonna then argued that Guy’s parenting skills were lackluster, but the judge eventually urged both parties to settle, because the case was getting too out of hand.
Maybe Madonna was onto something about the parenting skills or perhaps, she and her ex are just dealing with a rebellious teen. Whatever the case may be, we hope that they can come together as a family!
