<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">Roommates, at this point we might as well rename 50 Cent as Curtis &#8216;Executive Produces Everythanng&#8217; Jackson! This time, 50 Cent joined forces with LaLa Anthony and Santa Sierra to turn Cyntoia Brown-Long&#8217;s story into a series named &#8216;The Case of Cyntoia Brown.&#8217; Deadline reported that the project will be <a href="https://deadline.com/2021/04/the-case-of-cyntoia-brown-limited-drama-series-curtis-50-cent-jackson-la-la-anthony-santa-sierra-starz-1234742512/">a limited drama series</a> based on Cyntoia&#8217;s book &#8216;Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System.&#8217;</p>
<p>The series will detail Cyntoia&#8217;s life by telling how she was sex trafficked by her boyfriend, tried as an adult, and sentenced to life for &#8220;aggravated robbery and first-degree murder.&#8221;</p>
<p>Lala will serve as an executive producer alongside 50 Cent, while Santa takes on being an executive producer and writing the series. Cyntoia, along with her husband Jamie Long, will <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/netflix-drops-teaser-for-upcoming-cyntoia-brown-documentary/">offer consultation</a> on the series. The project is already in development at Starz.</p>
<p>Cyntoia gained mass online support, including from celebrities like LaLa, Kim Kardashian, and LeBron James, after her story was shared across social media platforms. She had <a href="https://www.oprahdaily.com/entertainment/a32301817/cyntoia-brown-husband-j-long-marriage/">received a life sentence</a> for killing a man named Johnny Allen at 16 years old, Oprah Daily reported. She ultimately served 15 years of that sentence before receiving clemency and was released in August 2019.</p>

<p>She is currently <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/cyntoia-brown-receives-book-deal-plans-to-release-free-cyntoia-in-october/">an advocate</a> for victims of sex trafficking and for reform in the criminal justice system. Cyntoia married her now-husband Jamie Long back in 2019 after the two began exchanging letters in 2017 while she was still imprisoned.</p>
<p>Deadline shared that Lala actually presented the series to 50 Cent&#8217;s G-Unit Film &; Television and that it will be developed under his deal with Starz. The company launched an initiative called #TakeTheLead in hopes to &#8220;deepen its existing commitment to narratives by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences.&#8221; Cyntoia&#8217;s story will be a part of the said initiative.</p>
<p>“We’re honored to be entrusted with Cyntoia’s story, which shines a light on the <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/cyntoia-brown-has-been-granted-clemency/">injustice of a system</a> that tried and sentenced an at-risk minor as an adult when she was a victim herself of sex trafficking,” said Christina Davis, the President of Original Programming for Starz.</p>
