<p>The child, who was not named due to his age, has been charged with first-degree robbery, attempting to elude, and firearm possession, <a href="https://www.complex.com/life/a/backwoodsaltar/8-year-old-arrested-after-stealing-car-at-gunpoint" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Complex</strong></a> reports.</p>

<p>Officers say they did recover a gun at the scene. Meanwhile, the boy remains in custody at the Montgomery Youth Detention Facility.</p>
<p>Witness Snake Knapp told <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSlW249PQ5M" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>WSFA</strong></a> that he saw the boy even pick up two adults after reportedly carjacking a vehicle.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Whenever I realized it was a little boy, I knew I had to follow them and make sure no one got hit and that he got caught because don’t want him driving all over Montgomery, causing more accidents or hurting himself or hurting other people,&#8221; said Knapp.</p>

<p>Knapp wondered where the child&#8217;s parents were during the shocking incident.</p>

<p>A 10-year-old boy reportedly stole an SUV before taking it for a joyride on a Michigan interstate on May 27. The child told police he wanted to meet up with his mom, according to authorities.</p>
<p>The unnamed minor allegedly stole a 2017 Buick Encore in Buena Vista, 35 miles north of Flint, Michigan State Police <a href="https://twitter.com/mspbayregion/status/1664282151221886976" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/10-year-old-steals-suv-drives-interstate-hoping-meet-mother-police-say-rcna87737" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>NBC News</strong></a> reports that police received a call from OnStar, a security service installed on the car, alerting dispatchers that the vehicle was southbound on Interstate 75.</p>

<p>Troopers attempted to pull the SUV over. However, the young driver did not stop, police said. OnStar then disabled the Buick, the outlet reports.</p>
