DINSLAKEN, GERMANY - MARCH 15: An athlete cleans the equipment with disinfectant after a CrossFit class at CrossFit Hiesfeld on March 15, 2020 in Dinslaken, Germany. As the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection continues to rise daily across Germany so is the impact of the virus on everyday life. Businesses are increasing home office work, airlines are decreasing their flight capacity, schools with cases of the virus are closing temporarily, some sports events are void of spectators, shops are selling out of disinfectants and large-scale public events are being cancelled. Clorox has made a recall on millions of its Pine-Sol cleaning products after revealing that the products could possibly contain harmful bacteria that could be harmful to those who have compromised immune systems or those who use external medical devices.

According to CNN, Clorox announced that the products that may have been affected may contain a bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa. There were eight different versions of the brand’s Pine-sol products that were recalled, including, the Pine-Sol scented multi-surface cleaners in the scents lavender clean, sparkling wave, and lemon fresh. As well as CloroxPro Pine-Sol all-purpose cleaners in the scents lavender clean, sparkling wave, lemon fresh, and orange energy. And also Clorox Professional Pine-Sol lemon fresh cleaner.

NBC News reports that a commission stated,

“In an abundance of caution, Clorox is recalling all of the above-described products manufactured at its Forest Park, Georgia facility through September 2022.”

The CDC shared that those who could be at risk include people who use ventilators or need catheters. As well as those who have wounds from surgery or burns.

The products in question were made dating back to January 2021, CNN reports.

The recalled bottles have date codes starting with the prefix “A4” followed by a five-digit number less than 22249. The products that are possibly affected are sold in bottles that range from 28- to 175 fluid ounces. The cleaning products were sold on Amazon as well as at national retailers such as Target, Walmart, Kroger, Dollar Tree, and many others.

Those who are in possession of a recalled bottle(s) are encouraged to dispose of the products and contact Pine-Sol for a refund.
