Last month, folks online speculated that Damson Idris had his eyes on Lori Havery. The viral talk came after Media Takeout reported that Idris and Harvey were dating, even claiming they arrived separately for a dinner date at Catch restaurant in mid-December. Soon after, Damson poured gas on the fire after he posted Lori’s January-February Essence cover to his Instagram Story.
But Lori, who is celebrating her 26th birthday today, told Adrienne Bailon during a recent interview that her Essence cover is “the first time they are featuring a single woman on the cover.”Â
She said:
“Love is so important. Love is the foundation. I feel like, to everything. And this is–the Black Love issue–is the first time they are featuring a single woman on the cover. So I’m very honored.”
In her Essence feature, released in December, Harvey declared that this period in her life is about her and “self-love, self-care, self-reflection” –selfishly and unapologetically.
Harvey echoed these sentiments during her conversation with Bailon. She spoke about coming into her own while asking the public to give grace as she navigates that growth.
“I’m really learning myself, growing my brand, growing my business. And just focusing on me now. I feel like I’ve focused on so many other things for years,” Lori shared.

But Damson’s latest display of online love gives a little more than the ‘single’ status Lori confirmed to Bailon. At least, that’s what the innanet streets are saying this morning!
On Friday (January 13), Idris shared two images of Lori to his Instagram Story. The first image was of him planting a kiss on her right cheek. Meanwhile, his hands are stretched, seemingly gripping the 26-year-old’s back bumper! He captioned that picture, ‘Happy Birthday Nunu.’
The second photo is of Harvey holding up what appears to be stacks of money to both ears. He captioned it, “the plug.”Â
Elsewhere in the interview with Bailon, the 26-year-old slammed misconceptions she’s heard about herself, including that she’s previously dated Diddy and his son Justin Combs.
Harvey said:
“It’s so funny, because I’m so quiet there’s been so many stories that have been made up about me. Like I’ve seen stories of me being fully in love with somebody and we had this whole relationship. And I’ll see the guy and I’ll be like, ‘I’ve actually never even met him before.’ Like full blown stories — I’ve heard I’ve dated a father and son before… Absolutely not true. And I’ve even heard that I’m a lesbian before.”

Lori’s adopted father, Steve Harvey, also gave a life update on his daughter during an interview on Today with Hoda & Jenna. He revealed that Lori has a tight grip on what he can publicly say but gave her credit for handling public criticism.
“…She’s growing up as a public figure. She doesn’t get to make mistakes like everybody else–everybody else gets to make their mistakes in the cloak of darkness at your house. Hers gets publicized. But she’s done a really good job of figuring it out and getting it right. And I think she’s at a great place in her life right now–I think she’s content with Lori, and I think that’s a great place for her to start from.”

Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan reportedly split in June 2022 after dating for over a year and a half. At the time, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Harvey and Jordan were “both completely heartbroken” and “still love each other.”Â
The source said:
“Michael matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready to commit for the long term. He let his guard down with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time. They had great times together and brought out the best in each other.”
Since then, Lori and Michael have refrained from publicly commenting on the end of their relationship.
It’s unclear if Damson’s post indicates he’s in a committed relationship with Harvey, or if they’re in the talking stages. Lori has not publicly responded to Damson’s birthday wishes.
