Over the weekend, Keke Palmer and Darius Daulton Jackson celebrated the pending arrival of their first son together. The couple hosted a ‘Once Upon A Baby’ shower, complete with themed props and decor, activities, and plenty of dance floor action!
The parents-to-be came dressed to impress at Saturday’s function with family and friends. Keke shared five images of their looks to her Insta-feed with a sweet caption highlighting the baby shower theme.
“A long time ago, in a land not so far, The King and Queen got together to play. The play turned to love as many sunsets passed by. Now there’s a prince who’s soon to arrive,” Keke wrote.
As for the fit, Palmer wore a sleeveless, light brown, sweater-like dress paired with simple layered necklaces, bracelets, and squared hoop earrings. Her hair was styled into a high bun with a sliver of a side bang. The expectant mother opted for knee-length boots to complete the look.
Meanwhile, Darius stayed within the brown color palette. He wore a deep tan coat, light brown scarf, hat, and brown checkered pants.
Inside Keke Palmer’s Baby Shower Theme
As mentioned, the event’s theme was ‘Once Upon A Baby.’ Different areas of the venue provided various fairytale elements, from the giant storybook where Palmer sourced her Insta-caption to Disney-character areas and games.
Event organizer, Stephanie Terblanche, decorated a long hallway with tall white tree branches surrounded by large floor candles. One area appeared to be ‘Bambi’s Winter Wonderland’ and featured white, gold, and light blue decorations, including balloons and flowers. Another area was titled ‘The Lion King Room.’
There were snacks like cotton candy and Japanese-style shaved ice in flavor options such as “matcha kakigori, pineapple coconut, and strawberry kakigori.”
In other areas, guests had opportunities to make custom body scrubs, toss items into a diaper wall, customize baby blocks, or race to put diapers on Disney plushies.
Keke shared a video montage of the event. In the caption, she wrote, in part:
“It was a Chicago, Jersey, and Cali connection, a night I’ll never forget. I’m really just so so happy for my family and my baby shower for me and @dvulton more than anything was about celebrating the people we love that have carried us this far!!! We know they will be so good to our baby boy. I wish I took more pictures!! Everyone did such a fabulous job it was beautiful.”
Besides the detailed decor, Keke and her peeps kept the dance floor hot! The first-time mother even dropped it low in a moment of pure joy and entertainment.

Just days before Keke, Darius and guests celebrated at the baby shower, she revealed they were expecting a boy. Keke shared the news during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. The actress hinted the child’s star sign might be a Pieces or Aries, meaning he could be born between late February and April.
She first revealed her pregnancy during her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live in December.
