Virginia Governor Gives Thousands Of Felons The Chance To Vote Again!

Virgina Governor, Terry McAuliffe, is making headlines this week because he has used his power to give over 200,000 convicted felons the opportunity to vote again! This has a been a long time coming and this new provision overturns the previous civil war provision in Virginia that many Americans and the governor agreed, focused on disenfranchising African Americans.

According to the NY Times, Virginia is known is a swing state so this new order could be a huge gain for the democrats in the November election. Those who have served their time and completed probation and parole are good to register to cast their vote.

Hopefully Gov. Terry’s actions will start a trend across our country because everyone deserves a chance to vote and for his or her voice to be heard. I mean after all this is supposed to be the “Land of The Free”.
