It’s been a few weeks since we last heard any update on Nicki Minaj brother’s rape case. Well now word is Jelani Maraj may be facing 15 years to life.
According to BOSSIP, Maraj was offered a plea deal of 15 years to life after his semen was found in the 12-year-old victim’s clothing. The 37-year-old appeared in court yesterday morning with “trembling lips and bloodshot eyes.”
Deputy Communications Director for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, Miriam Sholder says Miraj was given four days to think over the deal he was given.
The newlywed was indicted back in April for predatory sexual assault against a child as well as other felony child rape charges after being arrested for raping a child he had “access” to. His accuser says the that she was repeatedly abused from April 2015 to until the day before he was arrested, November 30th.
Maraj has pleaded not guilty since then but prosecutors are willing to reduce his sentence if he pleads guilty to an “A-II felony” of predatory sexual assault against a child.
As of now the case is being describe as “sensitive” as many officials involved with the case have decline to comment.
Nicki Minaj has been silent about everything going on but has supported her brother as she was the one who posted his bond.
