Okay #Roommates brace yourselves for this one. The attorney representing Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby, the one who shot and killed Terence Crutcher, said she had a temporary hearing loss during the situation with Terrence and didn’t hear another officer say that he had his taser ready to go.
According to TheGrio, Attorney Scott Wood said that Betty had an “auditory exclusion, which is a “phenomenon that sometimes occurs in stressful situations because the person experiencing it is so focused on the critical incident.”
He’s claiming that this impaired Betty from hearing the sirens of the other police car, and Officer Tyler Turnbough announcing that he was here and ready with his taser.
“She doesn’t have any recollection of that at all,” Wood said.
Ironically he’s saying that the shooting is justisifed because she believed he had a gun.
“If you think someone has a gun, you don’t get your Taser out,” he said.
