Melanie Brown, who is also known, as Mel B may be ready to call it quits with her husband Stephen Belafonte.
According to People Magazine, the singer/ songwriter and judge on “America’s Got Talent,” reportedly listed December 28th as the couple’s official separation date on the divorce papers.
She is also requesting joint custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Madison Brown Belafonte. Mel B has two other daughters from past relationships and Stephen also has a daughter from a past relationship as well.
The couple married back in 2007 after dating for five months. Mel B has also reportedly requested to terminate the court’s ability to award any spousal support.
Last month Mel B posted a photo with her husband captioned, “We have been through everything that would normally tear couples apart and we have come out on the other side stronger. You loved me before I even [knew] how to really love myself. You are my world, honey…”

Earlier this month Mel B also suffered a major loss when her father passed due to cancer.
