Childish Gambino’s hit single “This Is America,” is officially platinum.
According to XXL, the RIAA confirmed that the song reached its platinum status on Thursday with more than 1.3 million track equivalents being sold in the United States.
Aside from reaching platinum status, the single is still at the top of the charts, as it sits at number two on Billboard Hot 100.
The success of the single has also increased the sales of Childish Gambino’s previous projects, pushing his last album “Awaken My Love” back into the Billboard 200 chart.
“This Is America,” joins Childish Gambino’s other platinum-selling singles “Redbone,” “3005,” and “Heartbeat.”
