#BlackGirlMagic: Simone Biles Has Made History By Being The First Woman To Win Four All-Around World Titles

#SimoneBiles continues to sprinkle her #BlackGirlMagic all over the world–and she’s making history while doing it.

She recently won the all-around title at the world championships in #Doha, #Qatar, for the fourth time, which is the most ever in women’s artistic gymnastics, according to @CNN.

Despite a fall on the vault, a fall on the balance beam and stepping out of bounds during her floor exercise routine, she still won by 1.693 points — the largest margin of victory of her four titles — and she did it all just days after tweeting that she put off having a kidney stone removed until after the competition!

Competing and actually winning while technically having a medical condition is nothing short of amazing.

Fellow USA teammate Morgan Hurd took bronze, while Mai Murakami of Japan won the silver medal.

In addition to winning the all-around title, Simone, who returned to the sport this summer, led the U.S. this week to gold. And she still can add to her medal haul in the individual vault, uneven bars, beam and floor events!

Making history is nothing new for Simone.

At the closing of the last Olympic Games, she won five medals, four of which were gold, which made her the first American gymnast to do so in a single Olympics. She also won the all-around gold medal for women’s gymnastics.

In an interview with TeamUSA.org, Simone said, “It’s an incredible honor to be selected as the flag bearer by my Team USA teammates. This experience has been the dream of a lifetime for me and my team and I consider it a privilege to represent my country, the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics by carrying our flag. I also wish to thank the city of Rio de Janeiro, and the entire country of Brazil, for hosting an incredible Games.”

We applaud Simone as she continues to achieve greatness while representing our country so well!
