Roommates, our thoughts and prayers are with John Singleton and his family, as he is currently in a coma. His family and friends reached out on Instagram last week after he suffered a stroke, but his condition has since gotten more serious.
John suffered a stroke last week after experiencing issues with his legs. He checked himself into Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and suffered a stroke in his hospital room.
His family released a statement about his condition at the time, asking for privacy and support.
“Our beloved son/father, John Singleton, suffered a stroke while at hospital. John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care,” the statement read. “We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate all of the prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends and colleagues.”
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, John’s mother is now asking a court to appoint her temporary health guardian, or temporary conservator over John. She says his is “unable to properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.”
She is also requesting that the court give her the right to handle all of his business affairs while he is recovering. At the time he suffered the stroke, he was reportedly involved in several business projects and was prepared to sign a settlement agreement.
