Natalie Carson of Colorado has been in foster care for most of her life. The system had moved her in with a family in Georgia where she unfortunately was abused. After that she was placed back into foster care until she was 18.
Now, Natalie has moved back to Colorado where she’s earned her GED through the courtesy of Urban Peaks who seeks to help homeless youths. She’s currently enrolled in college and majoring in computer science! Look at gawddd!
With everything seemingly coming together in this young lady’s life, she just has one void left to fill and that is having a birthday party. According to MediaBlackOutUSA, She wrote a Craigslist ad in hopes of finding a family that will celebrate her 19th birthday with her.
“It’s something that I’ve never really had” she said. “Of course I’ve had birthdays, but they haven’t been good. Usually, every birthday is really painful and hard.” She’s offering $8 an hour to a family who wishes to help her celebrate her birthday.
Natalie says that she was inspired by another young lady who found success with posting an ad to spend the holidays with a family. “I just want one day that I can feel important and special, and like I matter even if I really don’t.”
According to ABC News 7, many families have offered their kindness to the teen.
Well, baby girl, you most certainly DO matter and we hope you have a very special birthday!
