Oop! Ice Cube is not here for talks about being underpaid for roles in the iconic film ‘Friday.’ Faizon Love, who played the character Big Worm in the first movie, recently told Comedy Hype that he was only paid $2,500 for his role. After a publication ran with the story, a Twitter user reshared the article in an attempt to blast Ice Cube for “robbing his own people.” Well, Ice Cube didn’t hold his fingers and let the user have it.

Ice Cube V. Twitter User

“Yo it’s wild how @icecube act like he for the people and the whole time been robbing his own people…Pay them people @FAIZONLOVE @christuckerreal #RipAjjohnson,” user @SO_AMBITIOUS_28 wrote.

“I didn’t rob no f****n body. The 1995 Friday movie cost $2.3m to make. Shot it in 20 days. Fazion worked 1 day, maybe 2. All the actors got paid scale to do the movie. They could’ve simple said “No” but they didn’t. So miss me with that sh*t.”

Faizon’s Comments

In the interview, Faizon explained that the pay was fine at the time when the interviewer asked if the money was “a big deal.

“I got to say I’m working to the P.O…probation…I’m working, I pay my rent, I ain’t out in the street doing no bullsh*t,” Faizon responded. “See, it wasn’t about the money then, really.”

When the interviewer pressed on, Faizon clarified that no one knew the film was going to be iconic.

However, Faizon did confirm that he didn’t return for the follow-up films because of the pay. With ‘Next Friday,’ he was offered double-scale, which meant $5,000. He rejected the offer. Instead, Faizon said he took another with Warner Bros. at $100,000. Regardless, Faizon says if Ice Cube needed him to play the role in a final film he would do it.

“If Cube said, ‘Faizon, there’s no money. I need you to do this.’ I would have to do it on GP because it was that character that brought me into the game heavy,” Faizon said on Comedy Hype.

Faizon Responds…Again

Following Ice Cube’s response, Michael Blackson joined the conversation. He thanked Ice Cube for his role in sequel ‘Next Friday.’ Michael also said Ice Cube isn’t to blame for the pay actors received for their franchise roles. Hours later, Faizon re-joined the conversation, calling his previous statements a “moot point.”

“First of all I not only consider Ice Cube a comrade but my brother and I’m still a fan I think he’s One of the dopest ni***s to ever touch a mic. I guess it’s a slow news week so let me say what I got paid is a moot point, it was the price of admission to a game,” Faizon shared on Instagram along with a selfie with Ice Cube. “I have zero regrets. Actually, I want to take this time to thank Cube Dj Pooh and Felix Gary Grey for letting me be apart of such an iconic picture. I truly have nothing but love For these brothers. WestSide Ni***s!!!!!!!!”
