Travis Scott has just announced his latest effort to help those across various communities, and he’ll be doing so through a new organization called “Project HEAL.”

According to TMZ, Travis has reportedly donated a total of $5 million towards the initiatives that “Project HEAL” will target. The organization is being described as “a multi-tier initiative dedicated to addressing challenges facing today’s youth, especially those from marginalized and at-risk communities.” The funding for the project will go towards scholarships for HBCU students, mental health resources, an expansion of the CACT.US Youth Design Center, and funding towards the US Conference of Mayors Task Force of Event Safety.

The scholarships for HBCU students will be offered through Travis’ Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund. They will grant a total of $1 million and will be offered to seniors who are attending HBCUs, and that have a GPA averaging 3.5 or higher.

Through his Catcus Jack Foundation, Travis will expand the CACT.US Youth Design Center, which is located in Houston, TX. The center has already been beneficial to various middle school and high school students, who are described as the “next generation of creators and inventors.”

Travis’ donation toward mental health resources will be led by Houston-based behavioral health expert, Dr. Janice Beal, as Travis provides his support.

The donation towards the US Conference of Mayors Task Force of Event Safety will also address safety during large live events. According to the project’s website, “This effort will bring together all of the relevant stakeholders from government, public safety, emergency response, health care, event management, music, and technology. It will be the first time all of these groups and individuals will work together to most effectively address the safety challenges faced by future large-scale events.”

The announcement of “Project HEAL,” comes after Travis received backlash and various lawsuits following the fatalities that took place at his Astroworld Festival last November.
