Aaliyah is just one of those people who is almost impossible to forget. As of recent
we can add a fragrance to her long list of memorabilia!
Rap-Up reports that the perfume company, Xyrena, has been working closely alongside Aaliyah’s mom and brother (Diane and Rashad Haughton), to release an official scent for Aaliyah.
Her brother shared in a press release, “It has been wonderful working with Xyrena to create an incredible fragrance that embodies the beauty, mystery, and creativity that my sister infused into every aspect of her life.”
The fragrance is reportedly unisex but leans a little more toward the masculine side. Good chess move; seeing as how she had her tomboy image, as well as her feminine side.
Xyrena’s CEO, Killian Wells,claims to have grown up on Aaliyah’s music and attributes being a fan as a key reason in the release. It’s personal for not only the company, but for himself. He says that with the release he hopes to reach out and introduce Aaliyah to a new generation.
The fragrance’s formula is a compilation of base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and jasmine. There’s also middle notes of black pepper, violet and leather; with top notes of mint, lavender, and mandarin.
Pre-order is available and the fragrance is only $64! Shipping is set to begin mid-October.
Lastly, 5% of the gross sales are supposedly being donated to The Aaliyah Memorial Fund.
