<p><strong>Adele </strong>fans were disappointed when the singer announced she was no longer moving forward with her Las Vegas residency. Nevertheless, Adele recently told BBC Radio 4&#8217;s Desert Island Discs that she stands by her decision to pull out of the agreement.</p>
<blockquote><p>I definitely felt everyone&#8217;s disappointment and I was devastated and I was frightened about letting them down, and I thought I could pull it together and make it work and I couldn&#8217;t, and I stand by that decision.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>She added that the backlash she received from fans was &#8220;brutal&#8221; and she felt like a &#8220;shell of a person for a couple of months.&#8221; The criticism she received didn&#8217;t change her mind, however. Adele expressed that she didn&#8217;t want to put on a show that wasn&#8217;t up to her standards.</p>
<blockquote><p>You can&#8217;t buy me, you can&#8217;t buy me for nothing. I&#8217;m not going to just do a show because I have to or because people are going to be let down or because we&#8217;re going to lose loads of money. I&#8217;m like, &#8216;the show&#8217;s not good enough.'&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>As we previously reported, Adele took to Instagram to break the news and apologized to her fans for postponing her &#8220;Weekends With Adele&#8221; residency. The Vegas residency was set to begin Friday, Jan. 21 through mid-April.</p>
<blockquote><p>We&#8217;ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we&#8217;ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVD. Half my crew, half my team is down with COVID&#8211;they still are&#8211;and it&#8217;s been impossible to finish the show. I can&#8217;t give you what I have right now, and I&#8217;m gutted. I&#8217;m gutted, and I&#8217;m sorry it&#8217;s so last-minute.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
