<p><strong>Adriana Sylmetaj</strong>, a 23-year-old pregnant woman, and her <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/rickey-smileys-son-brandon-smiley-dead/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">unborn child died</a> in a crash caused by her partner <strong>Adem Nikeziq</strong> who was &#8216;drunk driving&#8217; a Dodge Challenger at over 100 mph in Staten Island, authorities said.</p>
<p>The Albanian couple&#8217;s car collided with a utility pole, resulting in Sylmetaj being fatally thrown from the vehicle and the car breaking into three pieces. The accident occurred on Hylan Boulevard around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, according to police, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/01/29/pregnant-woman-killed-in-nyc-crash-alleged-drunk-driver-charged/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NY Post</a> reports.</p>

<p>Nikeziq, 30, now faces charges including manslaughter, negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, and DWI after showing signs of driving under the influence, according to an NYPD spokesperson.</p>
<p>Adem Nikeziq was transported to Staten Island University North Hospital after police observed signs of intoxication, according to a spokesman.</p>
