Billboard’s 14th annual Women In Music event s is right around the corner, and this year’s honorees were recently revealed. Alicia Keys and Megan Thee Stallion have been named as two of the additional honorees that will be recognized for their contributions to women empowerment.
Billboard announced that Alicia Keys will be honored with the American Express Impact Award for the work she has done with her “She Is Music,” organization. The purpose of the organization is to help increase the number of women within the music industry. The organization offers help to songwriters, engineers, producers, artists, and industry professionals. Over the past year, they have teamed up with different companies, including USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, Universal and Billboard.
Megan Thee Stallion who has been having a breakout year will be honored with the Powerhouse Award as she is being recognized for all of the hits that she has put out this year.
Spanish-singer Rosalía was announced as the recipient of the Rising Star Award.
Hannah Karp, Billboard’s editorial director, spoke about honoring all three ladies and said, “Women in Music is a celebration of artists and executives who are changing the world through their work. We are excited to honor Alicia Keys, Rosalía and Megan thee Stallion, whose singular visions and voices are shifting our culture while inspiring fans to stay true to themselves.”
Nicki Minaj, Alanis Morissette, Brandi Carlie, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish were previously announced as honorees for this year’s celebration as well.
Billboard’s 14th annual Women in Music event goes down on December 12th.
