Recently it was announced that American Idol was making a return to television. Now the show’s revival has received some mixed reviews, but nonetheless, people are still questioning who will be the judges this time around.
Katy Perry has already been confirmed as one of the judges for the upcoming season. Now it looks like the show may be eyeing a music great to sit at the judging table.
According to TMZ, sources reportedly revealed that producers think legendary singer Lionel Richie, will be a perfect fit.
It was unclear if the show has already reached out to him for the gig. TMZ has reportedly reached out to Lionel Richie’s team about the situation, and so far they have not commented.
Needless to say, everyone would probably inquire about how much the show would offer him. They locked in Katy Perry for $25 million, and Ryan Seacrest is rumored to sign on to host for somewhere between $10 million to $15 million.
