‘America’s Got Talent’ Executives Reportedly Still Want Nick Cannon On The Show

Earlier this week Nick Cannon took to social media and released a lengthy statement to announce that he would be leaving “America’s Got Talent.”

His decision came after he found himself in hot water after the shows executives took offense to a joke from his recent comedy special. In his special he joked about losing his “black card,” after becoming the host of the show.

According to TMZ, the executives over at “America’s Got Talent,” reportedly do not want to see Nick Cannon leave the show, but they likely won’t hold him to his contract.

The show starts back next month, and they reportedly have yet to start the process of searching for a replacement.

If Nick Cannon sticks to his decision, NBC will likely not sue him for breach of contract.

When it was brought to Nick Cannon’s attention that NBC believed that he was in breach of his contract because he had “disparaged” their brand by telling the joke he said, “I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property. There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity.”

According to TMZ, sources revealed that Nick Cannon and the crew over at “America’s Got Talent” have become like family throughout these past eight seasons. Therefore they have reason to believe that “he’s going through something emotional in his personal life and that may well be factoring into his decision.”
