Looks like Apple Music is real territorial when it comes to their main bread winner, Drake because they got real petty when they found out he would be performing at an event that Tidal would be streaming!
So basically, Lil Wayne had set up a benefit concert for Weezy’s Tha Carter Fund on the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and as you know he has high stakes with Tidal so it would only make sense for them to stream it live.
When word got out that Drake would be making an appearance at Lil Wayne’s concert, (hence putting his performance on Tidal) Apple Music was not here for it at all! Apple Music is so pissed that they threatened to sue if even a hair on Drake appeared on Tidal. Petty much!?
According to Page Six, Drake would be breaching his contract if he appears on Tidal since it would definitely cause a conflict of interest .
“Legal letters have been sent to Tidal warning that Drake cannot appear on the Tidal stream of the festival, either solo or part of a group, and if the warning was ignored, the liabilities could be up to $20 million,” a source reportedly told PageSix.
BOOP!!
Well it looks like Tidal took the threats seriously too because they definitely did cut the live streaming when Drake performed!
