<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#Roommates, we are praying for the safe return of a #NewJersey couple who went missing while vacationing in #Barbados.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Family members and friends of 32-year-old #OscarSuarez and 25-year-old #MagdalenaDevil are praying authorities find the Montclair couple safe and have turned to social media to increase awareness about their loved ones.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Authorities said they were last seen proceeding out to sea on a jet ski at Holetown Beach on Monday, according to <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/american-tourists-vanish-sea-jet-skiing-barbados-police/story?id=63948384">@abcnews</a>. Suarez and Devil were wearing life jackets when they took off. Sadly, they never returned to shore. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When the jet ski operator became concerned given the time that had passed, the company contacted other operators to carry out a search, the Royal Barbados Police Force said in a statement Tuesday, but they failed to find the couple or the jet ski.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The operator told police that the couple appeared to be lost at sea.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The operator became worried and contacted other operators in the area to carry out a search but they were not sighted,” the force said. “The Police Marine Unit and the Barbados Coast Guard conducted a search of the area extending as far as the Bridgetown Port but were unable to locate either the couple or the jet ski.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Investigators also checked with the Discovery Bay Hotel in St. James, where they were staying and hotel officials confirmed that they never returned.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Suarez and Devil checked into their shared room on June 22 and were scheduled to depart this Saturday, according to the hotel.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Inspector Rodney Inniss of the Royal Barbados Police Force told ABC News that there hadn’t been any reported sightings of Suarez or Devil as of late Tuesday evening.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He added vessels in the area had been alerted to stay on the lookout, and Regional Security System airplanes were also assisting in the search.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anyone who may have information on the couple’s disappearance have been urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or their nearest police station.</span></p>
