Yesterday ‘Cosby Show’ actor Geoffrey Owens appeared on Good Morning America and spoke about what life has been like since photos of him working at a Trader Joes surfaced online. He talked about receiving a lot of support from actors and actresses in the business, and his story moved Tyler Perry so much that he offered him a spot on his show The Haves And Have Nots.
Geoffrey appeared back on GMA for a follow up interview and said that he didnt even know that Tyler had offered him a job at first because hes not on Twitter.
Its certainly very generous of him even to kind of put that out there. Its certainly very encouraging, he said.
Tyler tweeted, I have tremendous respect for a man who has no pride about working. Hes going to do what he has to do to support his family, Perry said. I know a lot of people that refuse to go to work when theyre between acting gigs. When I saw that, I was moved by him. Thats the true measure of a man. The true measure of an artist. I have so much respect for him.
Geoffrey and Tyler have since been in contact and he has agreed to take the role.
