More Details Regarding Brittish Williams’ Reported Appeal

According to court documents reportedly obtained by RadarOnline, Beau Brindley, Williams’ lawyer, has filed an appeal regarding the reality star’s sentence. Additionally, the attorney wants an appellate court to review whether U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey used the proper guidelines when sentencing” Williams.

The outlet adds that after Williams’ sentencing, Brindley stated that his client received mistreatment due to her celebrity status.

“Brittish Williams was punished today, not for fraud, but for her celebrity,” Beau Brindley reportedly told PEOPLE. “The Court chose to treat her more harshly due to her status as a public figure rather than treating similarly situated defendants equally.”

At the time, Brindley noted his efforts to “challenge” his client’s sentence “through every legal means available.”

“Ms. Williams success is not a crime subject to enhanced penalty, Brindley added. “And we will challenge this sentence through every legal means available.”

In addition to Williams’ four-year sentence, the reality star was also ordered to pay $564,069 in restitution. Furthermore, Williams would also serve five years of supervised release, per PEOPLE.

Brittish’s Alleged Crimes & Subsequent Plea & Sentencing

As The Shade Room previously reported, Brittish Williams spoke out in May after she pled guilty to the 15 federal charges. The reality star’s charges reportedly included “five counts of misuse of a Social Security number… four counts of bank fraud… three counts of making false statements to the IRS, and three counts of wire fraud.”

At the time, Williams shared that she hoped her public ordeal would stop “the next person from doing anything that could possibly have them in the same situation.”

“I am not ashamed, I am not phased by comments or opinions. I am proud of the woman and mother I am TODAY,” a portion of William’s statement read. “Everything I’ve been through I had to go through. I have learned patience, humility, and most of all compassion for every walk of life. I don’t believe in loses. Just lessons to make better decisions in the future…”

As The Shade Room previously reported, prosecutors believe Brittish Williams used fraudulent Social Security numbers to defraud banks and credit card companies. Additionally, Williams allegedly obtained $144,400 from PPP loans solely intended for businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, prosecutors alleged that Williams’ schemes brought in almost $446,000 — $139,479.92, which was allegedly defrauded from an insurance company through fake medical bills, per PEOPLE.
