BET To Honor Lil Wayne With The ‘I Am Hip Hop’ Award

The countdown until the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards has officially begun.

According to Billboard, one highlight that fans can look forward to is watching Lil Wayne receive the “I Am Hip Hop” Award in a room full of his peers.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Lil Wayne has dropped endless amounts of hits and has paired with some of music’s biggest names.

Last week, the cover to his highly anticipated album “Tha Carter V,” was previewed online. The cover’s release comes after his legal battle with Birdman has finally come to an end. The two have also repaired their relationship after publicly acknowledging their differences.

As we previously reported, Drake, who is under Lil Wayne’s Young Money label is leading with 11 nominations for this year’s award show.

For the second year in a row, the show will take place at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater on October 6th and will air on BET on October 16th.

Congrats to Lil Wayne on his latest honor.
