Yesterday, hundreds of students got the experience of a lifetime when Queen Bey herself gifted the Philadelphia School District with tickets to last night’s show! Live Nation didn’t say the exact number of tickets given, but it was enough for a few students from about 68 different schools to attend. The only catch was in order to receive a ticket they had to maintain good grades!
Live Nation spokesman, Kevin Geary said that the giveaway had been in the works for weeks but wasn’t “something that they wanted to publicize.” What would you expect from Bey, though? She has always been a supporter of education so this was just another way for her to keep kids motivated to do well in school.
The news also comes along with reports that Beyonce has invested in a new startup company designed to make purchasing merchandise at concerts less of a headache. According to Tech Crunch, Beyonce and the Parkwood Entertainment management company she began dropped $150k for an app called Sidestep. The app makes it easier to buy concert apparel and memorabilia and also allows you to skip the line once you go to pick it up at the show.
To add to how gracious Beyoncé was to her fans last night, the entertainer continued to perform her show in the pouring rain! Everything went off without a hitch. She truly is the greatest!
