#Roommates, the nominations for the 2020 NAACP Image Awards have just been announced—and as expected, they are filled with various representations of #BlackExcellence in music, movies, television and more, especially Lizzo and Beyoncé.

In case you didn’t know, awards season is currently in full effect and the latest awards ceremony we have to look forward to are the NAACP Image Awards. The 2020 nominations have just been announced and continuing her winning streak over the last year, Lizzo landed six nominations—she’s the second most nominated female artist of the year, only behind Beyoncé who has eight nominations. Lizzo’s nominations include Album, Female Artist and Music Video Of The Year, while Beyoncé’s nominations include Variety Special, Documentary and also Album Of The Year.

@Variety released the full list of nominees and the race for ‘Entertainer Of The Year’ is definitely a tight one. Lizzo, Regina King, fresh off her 2019 Oscar win and starring role in HBO’s “Watchmen,” Tyler Perry, Billy Porter, who made history last year when he won an Emmy for his role in FX’s hit series “Pose” and the legendary Angela Bassett are all vying for the top honors.

The 51st NAACP Image Awards will air live on February 22nd across all BET networks.
