Recently Beyonc fans celebrated the one-year anniversary of her hit single, Formation.
However, if there was anyone who did not celebrate, it was the estate of the late New Orleans rapper/ YouTube personality Anthony Messy Mya Barre.
We all know that the music video for Formation, captures the essence of New Orleans, and Barre was well-known within the city.
According to TMZ, the estate is now suing Beyonc for allegedly using a small, but yet memorable part of his 2010 YouTube video A 27 Piece Huh? in the music video for her song, which is now Grammy nominated.
Barres estate claims that Beyonc used his I like that, line from his video in her video without their permission, and went on to make millions from the song.
Barre was shot and killed back in 2010.
The estate goes on to claim that they tried to reach out to Beyonc, but she allegedly did not respond to them. They are now reportedly asking for more than $20,000,000 in back royalties and other damages for using some of his final recordings.
TMZ has reached out to Beyoncs camp, but has yet to hear anything back.
