Roommates, Bhad Bhabie is well known at this point for headlines involving her often drama-filled behavior, however this time it’s her new look that has everyone talking. Taking to social media, Bhad Bhabie debuted a brand new glammed up look that had many doing an immediate double take.
17-year-old Bhad Bhabie is facing accusations of cultural appropriation due to the noticeable change in her appearance that she recently showed off on Instagram. She posted two video clips where she shows her visibly tanned skin much darker than her normal complexion, along with long, black, straight hair.
Immediately, reactions and comments began popping up online regarding Bhad Bhabie’s new look. One social media user wrote, “If you told me this was [the] same shawty, I wouldn’t believe it.” While another commented with, “omg… I didn’t even know this was the bhad barbie chick…. she looks like a full on black girl now…,”
You may recall that this isn’t the first time that she has raised questions regarding cultural appropriation. Back in December 2019, she caught major heat online after she posted a photo of herself wearing box braids.
In response to the backlash, she decided to shade black women for their hair choices instead of trying to understand where the criticism was coming from.
She wrote the following at the time:
“To all the black females that are saying my hair [ain’t] meant for box Braids, guess the f**k what, y’all hair [ain’t] meant to be straight but y’all glue whole wigs on to your heads and sew Brazilian/Indian/Peruvian hair which [isn’t anything] like your natural hair texture at all.”
We’re sure this latest situation is another that will likely spark an intense debate for days to come.
