<p>It was recently announced that ‘Black-ish’ will be returning to ABC for a fourth season, and now the spin-off show starring Yara Shahidi has been confirmed and has found a home on ABC’s sister company.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/blackish-spinoff-yara-shahidi-freeform-1202437696/">Variety</a></em>, the spin-off show entitled “College-ish,” which will be based on Shahidi’s character, Zoey Johnson&#8217;s college experience, has been picked up by Freeform. The show is expected to premiere in 2018 with a total of 13 episodes.</p>
<p>According to the synopsis of the show, “College-ish” is described as a contemporary take on the current issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education.”</p>
<p>Shahidi’s “Black-ish” co-star, Deon Cole, will be reprising his role and the rest of the cast will be new actors and characters that are not a part of “Black-ish.”</p>
<p>The show will be executive produced by “Black-ish” creator, Kenya Barris, along with Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, and Brian Dobbins.</p>
<p>Barris said, “I never thought they’d let me put ‘Black-ish’ on the air, let alone give me a spinoff. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to continue working with Yara and the rest of this talented young cast. To any aspiring writers struggling to make it out there, I highly advise adding an ‘–ish’ to any working title you might have. It seems to be the move.”</p>
