<p>It looks like the next battle is right around the corner, and this time living legends Bobby Brown and Keith Sweat will be battling it out hit-for-hit. There is no doubt that they both have legendary catalogs and now fans will have the pleasure of watching them face off during this year&#8217;s <em><a href="https://www.essence.com/festival2021/">Essence Festival</a></em>.</p>
<p>The battle will be taking place on Thursday, July 1st during Essence&#8217;s virtual festival experience as they prepare for the second weekend of their annual festival.</p>
<p>As we all know, both Bobby Brown and Keith Sweat have dominated the R&;B scene for decades. Bobby of course is one of the original members of New Edition and he has also had a successful solo career as well. Giving us classic hits such as &#8220;My Prerogative,&#8221; &#8220;Every Little Step,&#8221; &#8220;Roni,&#8221; and much more. His life story was covered in the 2018 BET two-part film &#8220;The Bobby Brown Story,&#8221; which starred Woody McClain as Bobby Brown.</p>
<p>Keith Sweat is responsible for giving us classics such as &#8220;Make It Last Forever,&#8221; &#8220;Nobody,&#8221; &#8220;Twisted and much more. He&#8217;s been credited for being one of the earlier artists to help usher in the new jack swing musical movement.</p>

<p>Recently Bow Wow and Soulja Boy faced off in a highly anticipated battle as they represented for the early 2000s era.</p>
<p>As we <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/triller-network-acquires-swizz-beatz-timbalands-verzuz-platform/">previously</a></em> reported, back in March, Verzuz was acquired by the Triller Network, which is the parent company of the popular video making/ social app Triller. As a part of the new deal, Swizz and Timbaland joined the Triller Verzuz management team to help oversee music and other company strategies.</p>
