<p>Coinciding with hip hop&#8217;s 50th birthday, a <em>very </em>important intersection in Cleveland, Ohio, has been renamed in honor of <strong>Bone Thugs-N-Harmony</strong>.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">August 11 Is Officially &#8220;Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Day&#8221; In Cleveland</h3>
<p>According to <a href="https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/local/cleveland/bone-thugs-n-harmony-street-cleveland-east-99th-street/95-29ca7f47-edd5-49e2-aeee-d712e80da0d2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WKYC</a>, the street dedication went down on Friday (Aug. 11). It took place at the intersection of East 99th Street and St. Clair Avenue, which was memorialized through the group&#8217;s 1995 album, <em>E. 1999 Eternal</em>.</p>
<p>Notably, Mayor <strong>Justin Bibb </strong>further honored the group — comprised of <strong>Krayzie Bone</strong>, <strong>Layzie Bone</strong>, <strong>Bizzy Bone</strong>, <strong>Wish Bone</strong>, and <strong>Flesh-n-Bone </strong>— by commemorating the date as <strong><em>&#8220;Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Day.&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p>The development came about thanks to a petition created in February 2022, which Councilman <strong>Kevin Conwell</strong> called the &#8220;fastest one&#8221; he&#8217;s seen, per <a href="https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/watch-at-12pm-street-dedication-ceremony-honors-clevelands-bone-thugs-n-harmony" target="_blank" rel="noopener">News 5 Cleveland</a>.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;This is the fastest petition I have seen signed, and I have been on council for 20 years. I’ve done a lot of street dedications, and this is the fastest one I’ve seen here. That’s proof that it’s in the pudding.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Many attendees captured footage of the dedication, including Krayzie Bone himself. When a city employee arrives to switch out the sign, viewers can see that, above the standard &#8220;E. 99 St.&#8221; address, the new placard proudly reads, <strong><em>&#8220;Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Way.&#8221;</em></strong></p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Krayzie Bone Expresses His Gratitude: &#8220;It&#8217;s A Wonderful Thing To Be Alive To Witness It&#8221;</h3>
<p>During a sit-down with <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2023/08/krayzie-bone-returns-to-cleveland-to-spread-the-love-rename-a-street-celebrate-hip-hop-and-have-some-barbecue.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cleveland.com</a>, Krayzie Bone acknowledged the group&#8217;s reaction to the street renaming.</p>
<p>Of course, Krayzie said Bone Thugs-N-Harmony welcomed the matter with open arms.</p>

<p>He added that he and his group mates &#8220;felt blessed&#8221; to still have the community&#8217;s support before sharing, <strong><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s a wonderful thing to be alive to witness it.&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p>Krayzie Bone also shared some commentary on how he plans to use the Spread The Love Foundation, established in 2019, to give back to &#8220;aspiring artists&#8221; in the state.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We&#8217;re trying to build a school here, an academy, so that we can educate the aspiring artists who are coming up from this city — not just the city, but the entire state.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>He noted that he wanted to give up-and-coming artists &#8220;the weapon of education when dealing with these big corporate giants.&#8221; As a result, the initiative helps &#8220;break that cycle and give the artist some leverage.&#8221;</p>
