<p>Amid various critiques over his alleged involvement in an a scandalous <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/brett-favre-calls-to-be-dropped-from-mississippi-welfare-lawsuit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">welfare fraud case</a> down in Mississippi, Brett Favre is coming through with a few defamation cases.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s specifically taking aim at sports commentators Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee—as well as State Auditor Shad White, whose office brought on the allegations.</p>

<p>Brett reportedly filed the lawsuits on Thursday, nearly five months after word of the alleged scandal broke, as <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/brett-favre-labeled-as-welfare-queen-amid-reports-former-ms-governor-nonprofit-leader-gave-him-6m-in-welfare-funds/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Shade Room</a> </em>previously reported.</p>
<p>In his defamation suit against Sharpe, Favre hones in on some comments he shared on <em>Skip and Shannon: Undisputed</em>, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35624974/brett-favre-sues-mississippi-state-auditor-shannon-sharpe-pat-mcafee-defamation" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>ESPN</em></a>.</p>
<p>Specifically, amid accusations that Brett was a &#8220;Welfare Queen,&#8221; Shannon said the NFL Hall of Fame quarterback was a &#8220;sorry mofo to steal from the lowest of the low.&#8221; He also straight-up said that Brett &#8220;stole money from people that really needed that money,&#8221; adding that he&#8217;s a &#8220;sleazeball.&#8221;</p>

<p>The lawsuit against Pat McAfee cites similar claims made on <i>The Pat McAfee Show</i>, as Brett was called out for &#8220;stealing from poor people in Mississippi.&#8221; McAfee also said Favre &#8220;tied the hands of the poor people and took money right out of their pockets.&#8221;</p>

<p>In the case against Shad White, the lawsuit slams him for &#8220;shamelessly and falsely attacking Favre&#8217;s good name&#8221; for the sake of gaining political clout.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;White has made egregiously false and defamatory statements accusing Favre of &#8216;stealing taxpayer funds&#8217; and knowingly misusing funds &#8216;designed to serve poor folks.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>However, Fletcher Freeman—a spokesperson for the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor—denies the claims against White.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Everything Auditor White has said about this case is true and is backed by years of audit work by the professionals at the Office of the State Auditor.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>We should also point out that Brett maintains his innocence, as he <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/brett-favre-speaks-out-amid-welfare-scheme-controversy-i-have-done-nothing-wrong-and-it-is-past-time-to-set-the-record-straight/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously noted</a>, &#8220;I have done nothing wrong, and it is past time to set the record straight.&#8221;</p>
