Roommates it looks as though our girl Britney is heading to court on Wednesday to discuss the conservatorship case with her father. According to documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday, Britneys lawyer, Samuel Ingham, is looking to remove Britneys father as sole conservator over her financial affairs. He states Britney is strongly opposed to having her father James Jaime Spears continue in that position.
If youve been keeping up, on several occasions fans have made #FreeBritney trend, calling for the emancipation from her Fathers care. Though Britney is seeking to have her father removed, she also hinted on appointing a new conservator in his place, someone by the name of Jodi Montgomery who apparently is a state-appointed conservator who will oversee her financial affairs.
Britneys lawyer said this about Jodis possible new position: “Without in any way waiving her right to seek termination of this conservatorship in the future, Britney would like Ms. Montgomery’s appointment as conservator of her person to be made permanent. She strongly prefers to have a qualified corporatefiduciary appointed to serve (as conservator of her estate).”
Though its not clear why Brit has had a change of mind, her lawyer has already made mention that Britney believes the new objectives will be aggressively contested by her father.
Throughout the years, there have been lingering questions about the state of Brit’s mental health. Though she maintains she is fine and just having fun. This new development could be a step in more independence for the pop star. Either way, we’re definitely wishing Britney well on this new journey and hope this moves gives her and her family peace!
