Brittish Williams “Not Ashamed” Despite Pleading Guilty To 15 Counts Of Fraud, She Says

On Wednesday, Williams took to Instagram to share a statement.

“Anything I’ve went through that a normal person would go through privately, I went through publicly,” she wrote on Instagram. “I hope my story, journey, and my growth can help someone going through something similar, or stops the next person from doing anything that could possibly have them in the same situation as me.”

The 33-year-old went on to say she was “not ashamed” despite pleading guilty and even said she is proud “of the woman and mother I am today.”

“I am not ashamed, I am not phased by comments or opinions. I am proud of the woman and mother I am TODAY. Everything I’ve been through I had to go through. I have learned patience, humility, and most of all compassion for every walk of life.”

She continued: “I don’t believe in losses. Just lessons to make better decisions in the future! Love you, and thanks for rocking with me.”

Williams Faces Up To 55 Years In Prison For All 15 Fraud Counts, $3.25 Million In Fines

Williams now faces up to dozens of years in prison and millions in fines, according to KMOV.

KMOV reports she was hit with 30 years in prison for the bank fraud charges, 20 years for the wire fraud charges, and up to five years for the five charges of miss using a Social Security number.

Federal authorities allege she used false Social Security numbers to defraud banks and credit card companies. They also claim she illegally obtained PPP loans meant for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Williams similarly pleaded guilty to defrauding nearly $140,000 from an insurance company by submitting fake medical bills.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the reality star has netted “nearly” $446,000 in stolen funds.

Additionally, the former reality star is also facing up to $3.25 million in fines, per KMOV.

Federal Prosecutors To Seek Reimbursement For Victims, Williams’ Time On ‘Basketball Wives LA’

U.S. Attorney Sayler A. Fleming said the following in a statement obtained by Yahoo News:

“(Williams’ crimes) victimized taxpayers, banks, credit card companies, individuals, and programs that were intended to help struggling businesses and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Fleming said.

Fleming added that federal prosecutors will be seeking reimbursement for the victims.

Back in 2014, Williams appeared in the third season of ‘Basketball Wives LA.’  She was engaged at the time to Lorenzo Gordon, who played professionally overseas, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

During Wednesday’s court appearance, Williams reportedly promised to stay crime-free, as per St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“I will not be committing any more crimes for the rest of my life.”

Brittish Williams’ sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 23.
