<p>Adam Johnson, the Florida man who bragged that he &#8220;broke the internet&#8221; during the January 6th attack on the U.S. Captiol, was sentenced to 75 days in prison on Friday, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/capitol-rioter-photographed-pelosis-podium-jan-6-sentenced-prison-rcna17409">NBC news</a> reports.</p>
<p>Johnson stood before U.S. District Court Judge Reggie B. Walton, who said he made &#8220;a mockery&#8221; of the unfortunate event by grabbing Speaker Pelosi&#8217;s lectern, posing for a photo with it, and allegedly directing other rioters to enter her office. Judge Walton sentenced Johnson to 75 days in prison, and hit him with a fine of $5,000.</p>
<p>&#8220;What do you do to send a message to the American public that yes, it&#8217;s fine to protest, but it&#8217;s totally reprehensible and must be sanctioned if you do something to undermine the fundamental fabric of this country, which is what happened on Jan. 6th of last year,&#8217; Walton said on Friday. &#8220;That&#8217;s the hard challenge I have&#8230;How can you call yourself a good role model or those five boys when you come up and do something like this?&#8221;</p>
<p>Johnson, a father of five, pleaded guilty to one count of entering or remaining in any restricted building on November 22nd. He reportedly admitted to unlawfully entering the Capitol, and grabbing Pelosi&#8217;s podium &#8220;because he believed it would made a good prop for a picture.&#8221; He also admitted to shouting that a George Washington statue would be &#8220;a great battering ram&#8221; for rioters to break into the floor of the U.S. House.</p>
<p>Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Arco told the court Friday that Johnson deserved prison time for his actions, and said video footage from the attack showed he was &#8220;part of a violent mob.&#8221;</p>
<p>While Adam Johnson seemed to be quite proud of his actions on Jan. 6th, his attorney&#8217;s claimed that he &#8220;deeply regrets his participation in the break of the U.S. Capitol and that the &#8220;damage and vile inflicted on that date by others is contrary to everything he believes in.&#8221;</p>
<p>Johnson will get credit for time he&#8217;s already served, leaving him about 60 days in prison, and will have to complete 200 hours of community service while on probation for one year.</p>
