<p>On Monday morning, Anthony took to his social media accounts to share a brief video with his fans.</p>
<p>In the clip, Anthony recounted his 19 years in the league. He explained that he is &#8220;forever grateful&#8221; for the &#8220;people and places&#8221; that supported him over his career. However, &#8220;the time has come&#8221; for him to say &#8220;goodbye.&#8221;</p>

<p>Anthony then explained that he is passing the &#8220;torch&#8221; to his son Kiyan. Then Anthony shared an inspiring message for the 16-year-old.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/22/sport/carmelo-anthony-announces-retirement-spt-intl/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>, Melo&#8217;s departure from the NBA league arrives after the 38-year-old has made 10 NBA All-Star appearances. Additionally, his scoring record, which equals 28,289 points, has landed him the ninth spot on the NBA&#8217;s all-time scoring list.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Anthony has played for six teams in the NBA, including the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers. He has even won three Olympic gold medals.</p>
