In the wake of the recent shootings that have taken place, many celebrities have stepped up to use their platforms demanding a change between police officers and the black community.
New York Knicks star, Carmelo Anthony, has been very vocal about bringing positive changes. Along with other NBA superstars such as Lebron James and Chris Paul, he took the stage at this years ESPY’s urging people to make step up and take action.
Now according to the LA Times, Anthony plans on having a meeting this coming Monday in Los Angeles to speak about how to bring about that change in our communities. The meeting will include community activists, politicians and surrounding athletes.
On Thursday while at a Team USA workout in Las Vegas, he said, “You have to keep the conversation going and dialogue going. If you don’t, then you just become another tragedy that happens that everybody forgot about.”
Unfortunately, media will not be invited because he wants everyone in attendance to speak freely and express their feelings and concerns.
Rapper, The Game has taken similar steps after planning a private meeting with other celebs from different fields to discuss a strategy for change.
