“Cheer” Star Jerry Harris Denies Allegations Of Soliciting Sex From Minors Following FBI Investigation

#Roommates, earlier this week many were shocked at the reports that the breakout star of the Emmy-nominated Netflix hit Cheer, Jerry Harris, was under official FBI investigation for allegedly soliciting sex from minors. Now, Harris has spoken out for the first time and denied the allegations against him via an official statement from his legal representation.

@USWeekly reports, Jerry Harris, the 21-year-old star of the six-time Emmy-nominated Netflix docuseries Cheer, is currently is under investigation by the FBI, following a search conducted at his home in Naperville, Illinois. Although Harris has not been formally charged with a crime, authorities are researching claims that he solicited sexually explicit photos and sex from minors.

A spokesperson for Jerry Harris, addressed the investigation, saying We categorically dispute the claims made against Jerry Harris, which are alleged to have occurred when he was a teenager. We are confident that when the investigation is completed the true facts will be revealed. In exclusive interviews, the alleged victims have been identified as 14-year-old twin brothers, who claim that Harris harassed them both online and in-person at cheer competitions when they were 13 years old. At the time of the allegations, Harris would have been 19. The twins further alleged that the reality stars behavior carried on for over a year.

As we previously reported, in letters to police in Florida and Texas dated August 1st, Varsity Brands chief legal officer, Burton Brillhart, said the company learned of inappropriate sexual conductallegations against Harris and reported the information to authorities as required by law.As a result of the recent allegation, we have barred this person from having any affiliation with Varsity Brands or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, now and in the future,he wrote.

Brillhart also included two screenshots in his communication with law enforcement. In one, which was a Snapchat message, a picture of what appears to be Harris face is labeled with the message, Would you ever want to ****. The other screenshot, which is a series of text messages, chronicles an exchange that beganon Friday, May 3,2019,when an individual namedJerryHarriswrote, Hey btw I found a place for us to do stuff its actually pretty goodhaha.

Brillharts letters describe Harris as a former employee who was not working for Varsity at the time of the incidents. In May 2019, Harris posted on social media that he was working for the National Cheerleaders Association, a Varsity brand. That summer, he posted photos and videos of himself coaching athletes at NCA camps.

As of now, Netflix has not publicly responded to the allegations and investigation.
